The Holy Spirit is often overlooked, misunderstood, avoided, or even forgotten. Jesus is not content with us living a life apart from Him so He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in the hearts of those who would receive Him, which is the Hope of Glory. The Holy Spirit is to our advantage for we cannot fully love Jesus without the Holy Spirit.
In this message, we look into the divinity of Holy Spirit, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, and some common misconceptions surrounding the Holy Spirit.
Misconceptions:
1. The Holy Spirit is an impersonal force of good.
2. The Holy Spirit is like a magic wand.
3. The Holy Spirit is our permission slip to get out way, manipulate others.
4. The Holy Spirit doesn’t work in the same way He used to.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, coequal with the Father and the Son, sharing in the divine essence of God.
