Thank You!
It is our mission to leverage every minute, every life, and every resource we have been given to advance the Kingdom of God by making God known to every person we meet. When we bring our resources together, there is no limit to what can happen. Through your faithful giving, we are making an eternal impact across the world, helping more people come to know God together. Giving FAQs
God does not need our money to do anything. So why do we need to give?
We give because God gave to us first. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” (John 3:16). When we give, we are following God’s model for love.
There is nothing that we have that he has not allowed us to have. When we give, we are declaring God’s lordship over our lives and our finances.
Giving is an act of trust:
Trusting God to multiply our resources for the Kingdom.
Giving is an act of partnership:
Partnering with God and His church for mission.
Giving is an act of sanctification:
Financial giving through the church is done in two ways: tithes and offerings.
We are stewards, not owners, of what God has entrusted to us. Therefore, tithing is bringing back what is God’s to God, and He entrusts us with the remainder to use appropriately.
A Tithe is a mathematical term and literally means 10%. The Principle of First instructs us to bring the tithe first.
“A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” – Leviticus 27:30 (NIV)
The Bible says that we ought to bring the tithe. We believe God desires for us to do this for two reasons:
1. Tithing builds faith within us.
2. Tithing removes the desire for more money from our heart.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” – Malachi 3:10 (NIV)
Any amount given above 10% is considered an offering to God. This type of giving is over and above the tithe and should be done with cheerfulness.
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” – Matthew 23:23 (NIV)
God tells us in His Word that He loves a cheerful giver, which is why we always want to create opportunities to give as He leads us and with a cheerful heart, through no obligation.
GCC is a developing congregation of The Wesleyan Church. We are apart of the South Coastal District which has appointed a District Board to oversee the planting of Gray Community Church. The DBA helps to oversee the budgeting and spending process of GCC.
We contract an outside source to keep all of our books and run our payroll.
We have a local Advisory Council made up of 5 Ministry Partners to help advise and hold our church to the mission and vision of GCC. This advisory council receives a detailed quarterly and yearly report of the finances.
The short answer is yes.
Though you are not required to do so, there is a prompt on the online giving form that asks if you would like to help cover that cost.
The cost breaks down to:
2.15% + $0.30/donation for credit and debit card donations
0% + $0.30 per ACH bank transfer donation
Absolutely, and we encourage it.
Automating the tithe allows us to give the tithe directly from the first fruits our our income. It also keeps the tithe at the forefront of our budgeting which we believe is important to our spiritual growth and financial health.
Another benefit to automating the tithe is being able to give through ACH instead of a DEBT card. ACH fees are only $0.30 while DEBT fees are $0.30 + 2.15% of the donation.
